ACC 2017: Booth 2223

· Company addresses medical imaging’s rapidly expanding role in the guidance of cardiovascular procedures with a host of innovative solutions

During the 66th Annual Scientific Session & Expo of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), March 17 to 19 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., Siemens Healthineers is “Making Complex Simple” – the company’s theme at this year’s show – by showcasing innovative technologies that integrate images and information at every step of the treatment process. With products and solutions that help customers to maximize patients’ cardiovascular outcomes, as well as a new name that underscores the company’s pioneering spirit and engineering expertise, Siemens Healthineers – the separately managed healthcare business of Siemens AG – helps enable healthcare providers worldwide to meet current challenges and excel in their respective environments.

From minimally invasive structural heart procedures to the treatment of highly complex coronary disease, medical imaging is playing an increasingly vital role in guiding and simplifying complex cardiovascular procedures. As imaging’s role intensifies, Siemens Healthineers remains ahead of the curve with recent innovations such as syngo CTO Guidance, a groundbreaking software application that fuses computed tomography with fluoroscopy to establish a new standard of care for patients with difficult-to-treat coronary total occlusions, potentially resulting in a more successful procedure using reduced levels of radiation and contrast. Another new imaging innovation from Siemens Healthineers – Compressed Sensing Cardiac Cine – accelerates the acquisition of magnetic resonance (MR) images by factors of more than 10, enabling clinicians to image the entire left ventricle in just one breath-hold for fast evaluation of wall abnormalities caused by coronary stenosis. Similarly innovative, the company’s CLEARStent Live software enables unique, real-time enhancement of stents as well as cardiac motion compensation during the delicate tasks of positioning and deployment. With these and a host of other innovations, Siemens Healthineers is helping to simplify complex procedures in cardiology.

“At ACC 2017, Siemens Healthineers demonstrates our increased focus on the field of cardiology even as we reaffirm our longstanding commitment to diagnostic and interventional radiology,” said David Pacitti, President of Siemens Healthineers North America. “To this end, we are providing clinical end-users with dynamic new technology that can bring diagnostics and imaging together to reduce the level of complexity commonly associated with many procedures. Additionally, we are forging relationships with leading manufacturers of cardiovascular devices to optimize protocols for visualizing those devices. By further developing our imaging portfolio even as we collaborate with other allied health companies, we support physicians in their efforts to deliver the best cardiovascular patient care possible.”
