Spinous Process Similar to Baastrup’s Sign

Advanced tissue delineation and confidence with xSPECT

CASE HISTORY
64-year-old male with focal back pain in the lower spine. CT demonstrated facet joint arthrosis while facet joint injection at L5 did not alleviate pain. The bone scan was performed to identify additional pathology as the cause of pain.

DIAGNOSIS
Known facet joint arthrosis with mild focal uptake only, additional focal uptake in spinous process at L3 with small fracture line demonstrated in the CT study. xSPECT Bone delivered clearly delineated Baastrup-like uptake along with the fracture.
