MAGNETOM RT Pro edition for MAGNETOM Vida
The time is now for MR in RT with BioMatrix
The MAGNETOM RT Pro edition for MAGNETOM Aera and Skyra is designed for the dedicated needs of RT professionals. Equipped with a set of appropriate positioning support devices and dedicated protocols for RT, the MAGNETOM RT Pro edition helps to support therapy more precisely. Based on the core technologies Tim 4G and Dot, along with a comprehensive application portfolio, the MAGNETOM RT Pro edition is also the ideal choice for shared use between radiation oncology and radiology. For the MAGNETOM RT Pro edition, Siemens is also proposing quality assurance procedures. For smooth integration of MR images into your processes syngo.via RT Image Suite is the answer: A dedicated platform for image visualization and multi-modality contouring.
The top-of-the-line 70 cm Open Bore systems MAGNETOM Aera 1.5T and MAGNETOM Skyra 3T are the sound basis for MR in RT. Excellent patient access, a large Field of View, and trendsetting imaging applications enabled by the core technologies Tim 4G and Dot.
In combination with Tim Dockable Table
The optional Tim Dockable Table improves your process efficiency by enabling to prepare a patient outside the MR exam room. In a shared use model between radiation oncology and radiology this enables scanning within standard radiological timeslots and gives you the flexibility you need. The Tim 4G Spine coil that is integrated in the table can stay in place for RT set-ups and provides excellent SNR for brain, head & neck and body (pelvic) exams. The table holds up to 250 kg / 550 lb.
The MAGNETOM RT Pro edition is equipped with a set of additional Flex coils and a Body coil with an extended cable for more flexible positioning of the coils. This ensures excellent signal-to-noise ratio for brain, head & neck, and body (pelvic) imaging when immobilization devices are in place. For example, two flexible coils, one body coil with an extended cable and the table-integrated spine coil can be combined for head & neck exams at maximized SNR levels. Compared to a set-up with loop coils, flexible Tim 4G coils provide up to 17%1 more SNR.

RT positioning packages
To help ensure accurate and reproducible patient positioning, Siemens has partnered with CIVCO Medical Solutions and Orfit Industries, leading vendors for RT patient positioning solutions. Patients can be immobilized with thermoplastic masks to assure that imaging is performed in exactly the same position as for simulation and treatment.
The CIVCO Positioning Package includes Overlay with Prodigy Indexing and a Three-Pin Lok-Bar, a Head Bridge Base with one adjustable, two-part Head Bridge and two adjustable Body Bridges.
The Orfit Positioning Package includes a high precision base plate, a bi-lateral coil holder, a set of headrests, and a set of fixations.
MR compatible Laser Bridge
The optional LAP DORADOnova MR3T Laser Bridge is an external laser system supporting virtual simulation at the MR with red or green laser lights. For high accuracy the marked position is shifted to the center of the scanner when using the RT Dot engine, so there is no need to use the system laser in addition.
Sequences & Applications
Siemens offers a variety of optional imaging applications which are tailored to address some of the main challenges in radiation oncology. Techniques like BLADE, Advanced WARP2, Siemens-unique FREEZEit and RESOLVE sequence help to maintain geometric integrity of the acquired data and to deal with typical sources of image artifacts, i.e. caused by metal. Furthermore, Siemens is offering dedicated image protocols for RT with the RT Dot engine.
RT Dot engine
Designed to enable consistent data acquisition and geometric integrity. The RT Dot engine supports the user in the acquisition of suitable RT planning images to be further processed in external RT applications. It contains features like automatic distortion correction, laser QA, and automatic axial image reconstruction.

Instructions to perform quality assurance with the commercially available ACR MRI accreditation phantom
This document is a brief instruction on how the ACR (American College of Radiology) accreditation phantom can be used to evaluate geometric distortions in MRI for quality assurance (QA) purposes.
syngo.via RT Image Suite is a dedicated RT software solution, enabling advanced multi-modality image visualization and contouring. For monitoring and therapy control, syngo.MR OncoCare is the tool to visualize functional changes in order to evaluate treatment response.

2The MRI restrictions (if any) of the metal implant must be considered prior to patient undergoing MRI exam. MR imaging of patients with metallic implants brings specific risks. However, certain implants are approved by the governing regulatory bodies to be MR conditionally safe. For such implants, the previously mentioned warning may not be applicable. Please contact the implant manufacturer for the specific conditional information. The conditions for MR safety are the responsibility of the implant manufacturer, not of Siemens.
