Solutions for Stroke Imaging
The goal of stroke care is to minimize brain injury and maximize the patients’ recovery.
The common approach to stroke care involves the patient being transported to the nearest hospital. At the hospital, a computed tomography (CT scanner) is put on hold while waiting for the patient to arrive by ambulance. This presents the situation of potentially delayed imaging from onset of symptoms. Delays in initial imaging could then lead to potential delays in delivery of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and also delays in subsequently moving the patient to the angiographic suite for intervention.
Today, Siemens has a new solution for bringing CT imaging even closer to the patient.
